Taco Bachi rocks! Nice family. My wife teaches at the school their kids went to/ still go to in Danbury and they have catered a few times before.
He does need to work on his special names though, can’t say a “Wet donkey burrito” sounds very appetizing 😂

Liked growing up here and still living here and enjoy it in my 30s. Most close friends moved away so we see each other once or twice a year if that but you make more friends if you're lonely enough. I'm just a big fan of Connecticut. Except the car tax.

Whenever we travel, my wife snaps pictures of the highway rest stops in other states to compare to CT. Most in other states are beautifully landscaped, clean, & staffed. Governments that show pride in their state. Unlike the closed most of the year "welcome center" in Westbrook or the trash filled truck stops further south on I-95.

So Optimum is a power company now?
>"Optimum says restoration efforts will continue until service returns for all impacted, and as of Friday evening, several thousand customers had their power restored."
Or, more likely, it's just News12 being News12.

Well I think it's neat.
Edit: Oh, I see now how that could be taken out of context. I meant 'CT is neat'.
Phrasing.

my worry about infrastructure chokepoints is more the electrical grid and water systems than internet tbh. internet will degrade quite a bit before it actually breaks for real

Thank you for this tidbit! I wouldn't have even thought to check code before throwing a new roof on the house, figuring a roof is a roof is a roof. But it makes a lot of sense to do that.

Neither of those links involve "adults getting eaten alive by black bears."
One of them is about a kid getting non-life-threating injuries from a black bear and the other is about an incident where some hikers were frightened by a bear but no one got hurt.

I worked in close proximity to native black bears for years and have plenty of photos and videos of bears within spitting distance or less. Even the most grizzled, battle-scarred boar I've ever stumbled upon never even so much as gave me reason to pause. They are to be respected, but fear is generally unwarranted.
