Liked growing up here and still living here and enjoy it in my 30s. Most close friends moved away so we see each other once or twice a year if that but you make more friends if you're lonely enough. I'm just a big fan of Connecticut. Except the car tax.

Whenever we travel, my wife snaps pictures of the highway rest stops in other states to compare to CT. Most in other states are beautifully landscaped, clean, & staffed. Governments that show pride in their state. Unlike the closed most of the year "welcome center" in Westbrook or the trash filled truck stops further south on I-95.

I worked in close proximity to native black bears for years and have plenty of photos and videos of bears within spitting distance or less. Even the most grizzled, battle-scarred boar I've ever stumbled upon never even so much as gave me reason to pause. They are to be respected, but fear is generally unwarranted.
