I agree the situation is dire right now. I drive down to Fairfield at least once a week to see friends and every time I do I get a little anxious because I know I’m going to have to deal with a handful of buffoons on the way there driving like absolute asshats. It’s not as bad as driving to NY or NJ but it’s getting close and that is saying something.

Yeah the cops here give actually 0 fucks about everything. If they pull someone over I usually assume that they were either going like 100 mph and swerving, the cop was just having a bad day and decided to take it out on someone, or their supervisor said that they need to meet their monthly quota so they have to do their job this week.

There are no developments for affordable housing. Developers want to build 10 luxury units, but only have to make 3 "affordable".

There's lots of deflection. It's not just a NIMBY problem. Developers just want to keep building where they please, what they please. Now they have a tool to circumvent local zoning laws.

Gotta attack it from all angles here.

The fucking irony…. You are the reason change doesn’t happen… 🤦🏼‍♂️ 40% of the political funds that come out of private sector are from CT… fucking educate yourself before speaking absolute nonsense that isn’t even factually accurate

Ct arrests people then lowers their bail and either makes a plea deal or drops the charges. Specifically so that person can continue their criminal career. It’s really a sad state of affairs. But that’s what trying to be woke will get you. Just look at this SF lady begging for police after defunding them when it was the “cool” thing to do. https://youtu.be/1eqshbnzQhQ

In regards to CT

http://ctsentencingcommission.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/A-Study-on-Sentencing-Outcomes-for-Firearm-Offenses.pdf “ Overall Findings. From 2008 to 2017, the state of Connecticut initiated 30,977 cases or “dockets” charging individuals with firearm infractions, violations, and crimes. 27,022 of these dockets contained one or more final firearm charges at the time of disposition. These dockets contained 43,855 final firearm charges. 66% of these charges were dismissed or nolled, though over half of these dismissals and nolles occurred in dockets where the defendant either 1) successfully completed a diversionary program or 2) pled guilty to another charge in the docket as part of a plea agreement.”

No corporate hotel chain (Marriot, Hilton, Hyatt) has you sharing a toilet with others. All of these hotels have locations in Manhattan either midtown or FiDi that are around $250 for April 3-5th. If OP’s company is quite large, it’s possible they also have a corporate discount to use. There are at least 20+ choices between the big three chains and other places like Yotel or The New Yorker.

If you’re paying $500 a night, you’re paying for luxury. Maybe OP can afford luxury with his NYC salary but he only needs about $500 weekly.
