Maybe because they've been running this for like a month or two and whittling it down?

He’s been through a lot. Abuse as a kid, watching his father die, and having to endure the press through his brothers ordeal. I hope he gets the help he needs and comes back from this.

Anecdotal but I had to take my baby there (for a relatively stressful ordeal) and parking was a nightmare. Garages were full, street parking was nonexistent.

Because those people spend the majority of their waking hours contributing to your local economy instead of someone else's. Because those people provide a nearby critical resource to your community. Because having educated health workers in your city is a universal benefit.
What an impossibly shortsighted take.

Oh I agree 100%. The actual staff need to be paid more and there needs to be more of them. This specific place I know cuts hours of their workers even though they don’t need to. This causes gaps in coverage - overnight especially. Since we know that’s on purpose it somehow makes it more underhanded and evil - both for their staff and for the patients. The woman that ran the memory care unit at our place 100% should not be allowed to be in charge of anyone let alone folks with memory issues.

Home Run Inn. Gino’s East. CT pizza doesn’t do it for me, or for anyone I’ve had visiting here. It’s too bad, because I’d heard good things.

How does having the jobs in the city benefit it? If the employees are just driving in, working, going home then they're not doing much to benefit it. In fact, with traffic and air pollution, they may cause the community more harm than good.

the obstacle is with the artist, not the ink - I have met artists who have even mentioned they are not as experienced w certain skin tones and will suggest artists who are since they are limited by their own skill set. Should they learn and adapt? absolutely, but that’s not always the case.

That’s awful. Frequent UTIs are unfortunately very common in my limited experience. There is a lot of money in elder care, but it seems to all go to administration/ executives rather than the staff. They are very over worked and under paid. Not to give excuses- no person (or animal) should ever be treated these ways, but it seems very much a too down issue.

No - the community needs to vote better so you don't lose these jobs to a smaller and more accommodating market, so they have nearby access to this resource.

I live in Shelton now after growing up in Trumbull. Shelton is great, but I think Milford is better as well. If you are looking at something like Fairfield try Trumbull. Slightly cheaper homes and better taxes than Fairfield.

How is that lucky, though? CCMC doesn't pay taxes to the city. Where it's expending will be even more dollars off of the city's tax rolls. By adding parking the Hospital seems to want to contribute to congestion and air pollution that actual residents and community members have to deal with.

I grew up nearby and live in Shelton now. I visit a lot. There's no horrible section, but Devon is seen as less desirable. My grandparents lived there two years ago for a year though, and there were no problems. They got into an apartment by the beach which is obviously seen as better, but Devon still wasn't that bad.

People come from all across the state to CCMC, the residents of Hartford are not the only ones who use the hospital. It may be true that there is technically tons of parking in Hartford, but that doesn’t mean any of it is accessible to patients of the hospital.

A new parking garage that frees up real estate for other developments doesn’t sound as negative as you’re implying. Building up instead of out is a win-win.

Hartford is lucky to have an institution like CCMC in the city that is interested in expanding in the city, rather than expanding in a place like Farmington.

My grandmother with dementia is on her 3rd memory care facility. The last one threatened to kick her out because she was displaying aggressiveness which is a very common sign of….you guessed it…dementia. We moved her out anyway because she kept getting frequent UTIs due to lack of care/cleanliness. They rarely bathed her. It’s sickening.

With all due respect, parking is extremely limited for Hartford Hospital and CT Children's. There are folks who have to park at the end of Hudson St near Pulaski Circle, several blocks away from campus, then take a shuttle to the hospitals proper.
