Yale’s patient relations Dept has gone way down hill too. It’s nothing more than bare risk management at this point.

Also, some of the floors seem to be big on cycling through new, recently graduated nurses with few more mid career or senior nurses floating around and that just doesn’t work, they aren’t up for it when they are that thin on mentors present for at least most of the time. Other depts though this is not the case. I don’t know how they prioritize it

Milford is awesome. I lived near Newtown in Bethel and it was a little too sleepy for me. Milford feels more vibrant if that makes sense. And friendlier. Also being near New Haven is a HUGE plus. So much culture, entertainment, food, cool areas to walk.

We just bought a house in Milford last year (moving from NYC) and couldn’t be happier. Looked at basically everything between Stamford to New Haven and Milford checked off most of our boxes (affordability, schools, beaches, train station, dog park, etc)

Even the best facilities have issues. And they are cost cutting. One place eliminated their entire medical staff and contracted out to a practice in CT that does gobs of nursing homes here. So the doctors and APRNs actually work for this practice. The educational credentials of the personnel don’t compare at all with prior staff

How is South Norwalk not on at least the top 25...one of the best neighborhoods by far for professionals and empty nesters (we need more places like this represented on this list not just hallmark movie suburbs). Lots of diverse restaurants and shops (better than bland West Hartford imo), pretty walkable, and great access to the train station - all while being a model example of adaptive reuse (i.e. repurposing historical buildings). There's no neighborhood like it in CT to be honest.

Yes. I never do emissions on a car until I'm sure I'm going to keep it beyond registration. Return the cat. Wait until your almost due then trade in. The new car will have to pass from the dealer.

I can't speak generally, but in my case, I worked at a facility that was profit, then went nonprofit for a few years, then switched back. Nothing changed during that time; it was explained to us as a tax status thing, and we were explicitly told nothing would be changing.

Where in NYC? If not extremely near Grand Central you’ll need to factor in that additional commute time as well. I think Milford is a good bet of being both on a direct metro north line to GCT (no transfers) and potentially less than an hour commute each way to West Hartford. I agree with others though this is pretty brutal even as a best case scenario.
