I plan on moving, I do like the stats like I said but I’m meant to be in warm weather year round ☀️ the only thing that’s been keeping me here is my family

If for whatever reason a move doesn't work out, I found that forcing yourself to go outside during the daytime, even in colder weather, helps out immensely with SAD. I get that with working a full time job it's difficult, but I found my seasonal depression goes down when I do this, and now I only really get it between late November to the end of February.

IDK, I kind of like winter, although it's not as fun when it's too warm, slush and mud isn't as pretty as icicles and snow covered landscapes

Can anyone tell me why they left California to move to Connecticut? I'll tell you my story if you tell me yours!

The UConn Bookstore on campus would be your best bet. They have a large selection of hats.

Reply to comment by dptiv in This is my first year owning a car how do car taxes work? Do they just mail you a form once a year? And how much is it typically? by _camnoble_
No, I think that’s part of the registration fee. Car taxes go to municipalities, not the state.

Our state has historically been, and continues to be, very segregated :(

steamfitters union, electricians unions. Call and look for apprenticeships to get a foot in the door. Benefits, retirement and wages.

There’s not much more you can prove in a face to face interview than you can by phone when it comes to skilled trades.. think of your part time work as the interview. They’ll be testing your skills. If they bump you to full time then you’re actually hired. Good luck!

What is your background and work experience as far as employment? GED? High school grad? Vocational? College? Driving record? What's on your criminal background?

I hear ya. But I'm pretty sure every person here is aware California and New York City are more expensive. That just seems like common knowledge.
And yes to FL, the rich parts anyway. Central Florida is still pretty affordable though.

Reply to Any signs of spring in your area so far? by ILovePublicLibraries
I've seen about 5 painted turtles this year. First ones I saw were on the 21st.
I've also been hearing spring peepers since the 18th and the ospreys have migrated back.
