If an AI were to ever possess demonstrable sapience, then the only moral answer would be to grant it rights.

They can if a patent is held and they kill all the competition in development or court. It's already being done with tons of pharma.

An entity that isn't bound by human vulnerabilities could go places that humans either can't (or really don't want to) go, like planet Mercury. It could send us abundant building material from Mercury to build moon cities and orbital colonies, then abundant carbon dioxide from Venus to help pressurize them.
All the sci fi guys want to write about traveling to other star systems, but the one we started with is remarkably good. If we can make a robot-ship to siphon gas giant atmospheres we could hypothetically build giant fuel refineries to power primitive interstellar ships, but also fuel for traveling between solar system colonies to continue massive human growth.

Yep. Just recently learned the presidents don't actually play online games together. Bummer.

You have too much faith in people and politicians. I think good leaders won’t be found and the people won’t elect the right people. The can will be kicked down the road every 4 years like every other problem

When I was learning video editing at the turn of the century from someone who studied film while Blazing Saddles (1974) was in production (WIP presented to a class he was in) - he lectured us extensively on the fakeness people expect.
A lot of the things he told me are probably outdated by now, because they're the issues that 20th century equipment imparted into film.

My guess is the AI will speed it up many times with simulations and iterations across the entire structure of the robots and the robot as a whole.

The government is run like a ponzi scheme , it will not matter what they do there will be a global economic collapse and debt restructure. At that point most of them will be replaced by new candidates as people revolt. This is the critical time and will dictate our future. I believe the morons will finally see the light at this point and elect people who are qualified rather than showmanship. If they do not they will enjoy the fruits of war and serfdom.

Hi. I am curious. Based on what and how did you come to this conclusion

What motive does a privatized healthcare system have to treat the dying, the disabled, or people too sick to work, who may never recover? Where's the money in that?

That's cute, but ultimately, all of the above directly caused the destruction of millions of jobs. You can make up any qualifiers you want, but the truth is what it is.

Smart and brave are dangerous for you, they are not your friends.

The key word there is position. Anyone who's ever enabled cheats in a single player video game knows how hollow and boring raw "success" without a broader context is. You need a society to have a position. And the admiration of the desperate is far less satisfying (even to the selfish) than the admiration of the capable, educated, and well off.

Oh they definitely are fooling people.(influencers) I had something sent to me this weekend by a friend. Turned out I know the influencer in real life.
I only knew it was her through work details and name. She looks NOTHING like her videos and images.
It was amazing. I scrolled through her years of videos and a few years back it mostly looked like her, a slightly idealized version, but it’s gotten so drastic that I even found a video explaining away the transformation.
Well it’s bs she still looks like she always had only 7 years has passed and she got lip filler.

If you are filthy rich, you would rather prefer to maintain your position and not to worry about others.
That's because you became filthy rich.

Lol. A couple of days ago there was a Coronal Mass Ejection that hit Earth that caused aurora borealis as far south as Alabama.
This was only Earth catching the edge of it. It could have been as strong as the Carrington event, which repeated would devastate the modern world.
It's not unlikely that in the future you could need Luddites to keep you and your family alive.
How good are your Luddite skills? Can you farm and hunt? Build a house? Forge metal?
