When I was dancing at a club in Adelaide one night. I guy came in. I was sitting on his lap figuring out how much he was going to give me.. he says 'whats the most amount of money you have made in a night'. I say 'about $2300'. He says 'okay, you're going to make more then that tonight. Then he proceeded to give me more then that.

Yes so Im not sure if it was because I was in my 20s or it was just too easy come easy go. But all my income would go back on lifestyle. I would also take large amounts of time off. I didn't start saving properly until my normal business bloomed. Now I have about $80K in savings. I just didn't have the financially literacy or the self worth to hold onto the money back then.

I think these days adult entertainment providers would best to take online platforms serious as a stream of income.
If you get injured at work, best bet is to have saved up enough to carry you through as Im not sure about insurances. Back in the day it was pretty much all cash. But now days there is less and less cash transactions.
Yes I currently have a normal businesses and some online adult projects that Im building up. You can take the stripper out of the club, but you can never take the club out of the stripper...

How has being a stripper for 10 years affected for impression of men? Do you have trouble seeing any other motivation for men's actions besides sex? When I try to place myself in your shoes, I can understand how the thousands of interactions at the strip club would alter my perception.

I liked:
'Dance A$$ remix' feat Ncky Minaj,
'The Look' by Roxett
'Stereo Love' by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina
Australian actors, either Nicole Kidman or Cate Blanchet.

Good question. I was super consistent across the 10 years. As mentioned in another comment. $1700 was my average. $900 on a bad night and around $2300 on a great night.
In the 10 years I had some outlier nights. There may have been two terrible nights in the middle of winter I made $60. There also may have been some crazy good nights during the Christmas season where I made $2500- $2700. I never left the clubs to F anyone so I just made money from lap dances.
Oh an in terms of do I make more now or then... Hmmm Nov/ Dec/ Jan you would say I make more now. But Im having a pretty bad month this month financially.

What were your top 3 songs to dance to? Also, who do you think is the most famous Australian artist (musician, actor, painter, writer, etc) to have made a lasting mark on the world stage?

I quit after 10 years because I was so sick of living a double life. I also felt like it was stopping me from having a healthy relationship. Now I think that was a limiting belief. After I stopped stripping I delved into a legitimate business headfirst and made that highly successful after a few years.
Mid last year I found myself burnt out in my business, so I'm now exploring other adult entertainment related avenues. Essentially Ill be doing my 'normal' business and some online adult things as a second business in the future.

I imagine the money is great (also noted your estimated income stated in another’s comment). After ten years… I imagine you could retire, would you share a rough savings? I’ve heard from other workers most the money gets dumped back into lifestyle and not savings.

Do you get an Australian version of a W2 or some annual income summary for tax purposes, and generally does your profession accurately report income (entertainers, owners, etc.) or is it a little lax being cash heavy. Does Australia tie income to other safety nets, like if you were injured performing, couldn’t work, retire, etc. in other words do you feel secure in this profession?
Any aspirations beyond clubs, like your own photo business? Is there room for performers to take the next step in the industry or very challenging to move on as an employee contractor or just woman generally? Why/why not?

Good question. I feel like these days online 'stripping' or adult entertainment is a big thing. Whereas it never used to be. Online platforms to showcase adult entertainment seem to be more socially acceptable then In Real Life services seem to be.
When I was dancing, stripping still had a lot of stigma attached to it. Escorting was also seen as way wayyyy worse by the strippers. I dont think the stigma has been greatly reduced, maybe a tiny bit. The thing about stigma is that that is actually the thing that us girls profit off. So the more stigma, the less people willing to do the work, the more money.
If I had my time again, I wouldn't tell anyone. I would keep my stripping career completely secret.
People cant discriminate against you if they dont know..

How has the reputation of stripping changed? Do you feel like sex work/ entertainment has lost some of the stigma that used to be attached to it?

Not really. All the clubs I worked at you would consider big. So the average amount I would make per night was $1700. $900 on a bad night, and around $2300 on a great night. I never really found it seedy. The hardest thing was living in secrecy. Or having people that knew, have some 'dirt' on me. It was very hard to retire.

None of them are that weird in the clubs. Because theres cameras and security everywhere. I embrace the weirdos, we just wanted their money.
