Doubling Point Lighthouse is in Arrowsic, close to Bath. There’s a small parking area and it’s usually very quiet. It’s a nice spot!

False. Any car newer than 1995 requires a title.

Dogs aren't allowed.

Walking out to the big rock at Popham at low tide is lovely with nice views, but dogs aren't allowed on the beach after today and Reid State Park is closed for construction. If you want to go a bit further, you can go up route 1 to Camden Hills State Park and climb up the Megunticook Trail to Ocean look out- a beautiful view on a huge rock ledge overlooking the ocean. Or you can drive up to the top of Mt. Battie- same beautiful views. Pick a clear day. Dogs are allowed. Camden is a cute town.

I lived in Brunswick- too populated. Moved to Gray- much better. Charming, it still a little cityish. Moved to Baldwin and I friggin love it! Areas of Baldwin can have close neighbors but I live on a road with no neighbors that can be seen or heard. Usually wildlife stuff is my action for the day now. I know Irma not as rural as northern Maine, but compared to what I’ve seen so far- I’ll take it every day

Cool to think of house that still exists that my first Maine ancestors would have actually known about and perhaps even visited.

My husband actually moved up here to be with me- he makes good money- we are within 45 minutes of the Lewiston auburn area - about 45 minutes to the Portland area - so it’s close enough to amenities- and we live in a priority area on the grid so we don’t go down for more then 5-10 minutes. We have spectrum and his work provided him a back up hotspot just incase something happens. He makes over 100k a year- but we wouldn’t of bought our house in the area we did if the options were shitty dsl or starlink. Having grown up here I was able to find a home for us that made sure we could access stuff & he could have good enough internet-

I was comparing Fidium’s 1 gig to Gonetspeed’s 1Gig. GoNetspeed doesn’t have a 2gig yet. $80 standard price for 1Gig is a great value to Fidium’s standard price of $95 for 1Gig

No one's going to work remotely on shitty DSL or unreliable starlink, which is all you get on large swaths of rural Maine. Remote workers with $$ want access to actual amenities.

95? I thought it was 20 years but I could be mistaken. Call your town office and run it by them. There are ways to get a title, probably be a reconstructed title but you can get one.

Outside of the “What is northern Maine” argument I’m super interested in this study. I no longer live in Maine but do live in a rural area that saw a huge Covid migration and would live more insight.

They only started issuing vehicle titles in 2000? That's a really foreign concept to me!

You can do OJT and be eligible for license since you already have a bachelor's. More and more labs are hiring people like you, and training them because there are not enough tech schools to fill the demand!
