I mean, you asked for advice and Im just giving you advice. Also, I don't think finding another job would take you ~1k Hours. (4h/day 5x/week for 52 weeks). That's nearly 26 FULL DAYS you could be spending doing something that will have a much better impact on your life.

We sold the Utah house last year. Price per KWh here has been lower always. Gas is about the same. The water is not a federal welfare program which all the America hating states seem to rely on so you actually pay what it costs here. Sewer is more expensive because we don’t have a salt lake to dump our sewage into.

This is a horrible decision and a terrible idea. Find a different job closer, or find resudence closer to your job. You're gonna waste so much time and money just commuting to work every day

Reply to comment by Gullible-Service1479 in I'm going to be driving back from D.C. to Ontario, and will be looking for a hotel room about 3-4 hours into the trip. Should I go I-70 to US-219 (staying in either Clearfield or Altoona) or US-15 to I-180 and stay between Selinsgrove and Williamsport? by MikeJeffriesPA

I'll see if I can get any deals closer to when we go, but Lewisburg seems to be about $75-100 more expensive than the other towns.

Thanks, as long as its an option & not that mobile wireless or satellite internet it should be enough for my job. I just need a stable wired connection to maintain calls during client meetings all day.

Thanks for this suggestion. I'll get in contact with them & see what sort of assistance they can offer.
Is high speed internet common as you get further out? Since I work from home thats the only thing thats a non negotiable for where ever we land.

I would suggest contacting local real estate agents, Hanna would be a good one to start with, As for the Area, anywhere north of Washington, up toward Bridgeville ,Carnegie, The closer you get towards Pittsburgh rents are extreme. Also out toward the Airport along rt 30 is a nice area. Close to West Virginia.

Amtrak's monthly commuter pass for the Keystone line is about $490/month, so you're looking at almost $6k/year plus roughly 80 hours per week month in commuting time.

Technically we'll be going from Bethesda, MD to the Peace Bridge (where we'll cross the border), and while Bellefonte is in the middle, we'd have to veer about 20 minutes off course (in and out, so 40 minutes total) to get there, since none of the north-south interstates run through it.
