Pennsylvania appears to be one of the only states not recognizing an indigenous people anyway. Lenape tribe were/are here it's never been a question and are still here albeit after the usual ugly history where there was certainly a shove to eradicate them. Sounds like the Monty Python dead parrot argument or something " We are here " ( visibly ) " No you're not " ( speaking to a tribal member ).

NO idea what in hell government gets out of the flat refusal. Pretty infuriating.

Did PA Sheriffs ever have what someone would consider “traditional” law enforcement authority? Did they ever run the jails? I keep hearing they’re pushing to be full service agencies like most other states, which in theory makes functional sense, but confused why they aren’t and don’t seem to be making any headway with it.

And reports of people saying they were being overwhelmed by the smell of a gas leak and no reports of an immediate stop on all machinery? In theater shows get stopped if a prop is to close to a moving lift. There's no excuse to not shutting down other than "do you know the loss of revenue from having to spin down and back up again?"

There's been this push for drag shows to be performed in front of minors like it is some sort of family friendly activity.

I think it depends. Like if I saw a parade float with some drag queens on it I think it's harmless fun.

However, if you've ever been to a drag queen bar it can get nuts there. Not really a place for kids.

I do not think we should be criminalizing men wearing dresses and putting on makeup but I also don't think we should be taking kids to the bar to watch drag shows even if it is being "catered" to children.

I figured someone would down vote my very candid comments. Sad. Our communication in 2023 MUST improve. The down votes are a badge of honor, as I try to stand up for any of us who feel marinated by intolerance. Even the intolerance of someone who down votes me, without a response. Bullying takes place on all sides.

Yes. Typically most people within about a 60-mile radius of Center City Philly do. I'm about 80 miles out and people here more likely call them subs though I grew up closer to the city and call them goagies. I saw a map once showing where in the U.S. they were called subs vs. grinders vs. hoagies and most of PA and most of the country call them subs apparently.

Pretty far left liberal here, but def not a vegan: I’m sorry but how in the hell did not one see this coming?

I mean, I know not all vegans, but this is literally the point of vegan philosophy. I mean, there’s a buttload of reasons to not eat animals, but moving to the point of “no animal based products ever” really is the idea that animals can’t consent to any kind of treatment like this, so it’s fundamentally a moral wrong (ie if it’s wrong to use a person, yo, it’s wrong to use an animal for any kind of personal gain).

I find it hard to believe that people couldn’t predict that a fair full of people with this life/economic/ world view would have something to say about it.

I read it more as this guy has a pre-existing problem with vegans. I don't know any person who doesn't who would know what Protect the Harvest even is.

For those who don't know, it's an agriculture industry supported anti-anti animal cruelty organization. They oppose efforts to criminalize animal cruelty or promote animal welfare.
