In NYC at least, a lot of them are front businesses for other things — often times illegal gambling in the back. A former colleague of mine spent a lot of time and money playing cards and stuff in the back rooms of those places.

Personally I’d much rather have a nice bar than a smoke shop.

the one next to target is such an eyesore with these bright ass RGB lights. If I was a kid I’d want to go in there.

I just noticed a new one opened on Summer Street by the Stop and Shop shopping plaza and another one opened on Broad Street x Summer Street within ~a month or so. There's already ANOTHER smoke shop on Atlantic Street maybe 2 blocks from the new one on Broad.

It's annoying, but those new locations were previously vacant for 3+ years. Not sure if it's a smoke shop problem or a general small business problem.

Vox had an interesting article on this relative to NYC recently. Are they doing this here? Can't beleive there are that many people that Vape or need a Smoke Shop everywhere you turn. Yes there is a house adjacent to Bullshead shopping center just past Sals Pastry shop, first house is being demolished to add 30-40 parking spots.

Yes, Dig Inn is rumored to be going into the diner space across the street.

There isn’t a house contiguous to the site. I can’t imagine creating parking across the street; this is such a car-centric intersection

Isn’t it their bread maker (Martin’s Potato Rolls) that gives $$$ to Mastriano, not Shake Shack?

No need to be so hostile - I do cross when it's clear, but sometimes cars are parked in such a way that makes seeing whether anyone's coming difficult. And I'd rather not get killed by someone speeding down Pacific, which happens all the time.
