Kotobuki and Chez Vous are my evergreen dining alone recommendations.
Tiernan's tries to have live music on Friday nights. It's more of a local dive bar if that's your thing.
Avon Theater shows limited release films (nothing too crazy).
Cove Park is nice. Mill River Park is nice.
If you're looking for a place you can just kinda hang out for the evening without "going out" I'd recommend Third Place.
Report back on what you liked or what you did instead. This question gets asked every few weeks.

Depends on what your looking for! Good food and a a chance to met some people Probably the bar at Barcelona...the later the better in terms of the socializing.
Where are the fireball shots, Darts and sports at? Probably brickhouse or Bradfords. Tigin is much more classic irsh pub quiet. In General you could just walk down Bedford street and find the place that fits your vibe. There is some decent food here too...Fish...Mecca Noodle etc.
The Wheel is probably the best new restaurant, its on the expensive side and your probably not making new friends there but it's a good vibe and great food.
Harbor point is the recently developed part of town. There are some decent restaurants like Fortuna and a couple spots like sign of the whale have a more clubish atmosphere after dinner. There is nice little water front park down there that is nice for a walk and sunset...plenty of people walking dogs to strike up conversations with.
Colony Pizza is top tier bar pizza (like on most of the country wide best pizza lists ) and their bar is great little dive spot to hang out and watch some baseball.
In general Stamford is spread out into different neighborhoods...each has it's own little local spots. For example I swear by Vinnie's Backyard as my local dive n wings and sports but my buddies will tell you Fiddlers green is the spot for that kind of hang.

The bar at Barcelona! Tapas place that gets more social as the night goes on. Good food, good wine, good cocktails.
I'm sure there will be good baseball..not a bad way to start conversations if your into sports. Bobby Vs is the big shiny sports bar with a really nice setup and Vinnys Backyard is my go to divey sports spot with great wings. Plus driving up to Vinnie's will send you up hope street so you can see a different section of town. You could Try Casesy for this alll...it's more of a local irish pub feel.
EDIT; Fair warning, this is a bar in a strip mall...it's fantastically old and weird.

Movie theaters, coffee shops and restaurants in Downtown (Bedford/Summer st). Wouldn't recommend harbor point.

Pooch hotel is Norwalk is very nice. Each dog has their own room and there is group play sessions during the day but you can tell them your dog doesn’t like them. They will also do individual walks and play.

Fiddlers Green is always a good time. Great food. Kitchen open late. Karaoke on Thursdays and Sundays. Live bands on Fridays and Saturdays (sometimes)

I will have a car! I'm driving in from LGA. What restaurants are recommended? Especially ones where you don't feel too lonely asking "Table for 1 please"

Will you have a car or able to Uber? Not a whole lot to do near the Hilton but you could check out Harbor Point (nice to walk around if the weather is good), some good restaurants downtown at Bedford / Summer Street, and you could go to like Greenwich Avenue for a meal / walk around if that’s your thing too.

Even PetSmart does that, you can ask to keep private play time for your dog

Spot on vet has boarding/day care and they will keep your dog separate if needed.

Not sure what vet you use but Bulls Head does provide boarding at reasonable rates

there was at least one club around before Covid. They Used to play across from hope pizza and then moved to route 1 above an autobody shop. Check Meetup.

I assumed they were hoping to change to dispensaries as well but at this point there’s so many there’s no way they all can

Yes and as an NY native id love for some action up here, Stamford needs some, but i think a new bar would always be better

Montreal has a ton of coffee shops. Montreal is a bit like harbor point in layout and it maintains a sense of community by having a good amount of walkable coffee shops and breakfast places
