I got it by email yesterday. It’s lower than last month.

You wouldn’t see the increase until your January bill which I think was emailed out today.

Interesting. I don’t even recall seeing that. I guess I’m just using less than before.

The rate went from $.12 to $.24 on January 1st. Here is what they stated in their January update email…

“As previously communicated, beginning Jan. 1, the Eversource Standard Service supply rate increased. Record high natural gas prices are having the biggest impact on bills, especially here in New England where natural gas is used to generate much of the region’s electricity. A customer using 700 kWh per month will see about a 48% or $84.85 increase to your total bill compared to December's bill. Your total bill impact depends on energy used, your rate, and weather conditions. We know any increase to your bill is challenging and we’re here to help.”

They did a really great job with Urby in Stamford. Great facilities, their pool and gym are fantastic, great grounds, most of the residents there have dogs. Very relaxing gardens and barbecue area. It is very expensive for the size of the apartment space, but extremely convenient for commuters like you. The area is safe, and although it is on the intersection of two very busy streets, while in the apartment, you don’t hear much noise.

Buffalo wild wings is unfortunately the best answer

When did that happen exactly? My bills have actually been lower than typical for the past several months.

I like Bobby’s and Tiernan’s, but definitely not if you want to hear.

Brickhouse if you like a good crowd, typically has the best deals of any spot

Bobby V’s is great for getting a table and seeing the massive screens - be cautious of the iffy service though

Tiernan’s has pretty decent food and deals, and typically doesn’t get too crowded

We go to Pound Ridge Veterinary Center. Just moved here a few months ago and we’ve been so pleased with their care.

Dr. Steve at Bullshead. He is AMAZING with our reactive dog. My dog did not do well with Dr. Nolan though he is great with other pets. Good luck!

My wife is a vet here, and CoL is a huge factor, as is inflation. At her hospital they have vet techs that make more than I do as a software engineer, and they are still struggling to recruit and retain both doctors and staff. This area is just a really, really expensive place to live.

Stamford veterinary center on hope street

The quote we got from them for dental work did seem pretty high, higher than what we paid at our Brooklyn vet for similar work. But we also got a quote from the Stamford VCA which was around the same so maybe they both happen to be expensive, or maybe that's just what it is :/

I'm guessing they saw an influx of new patients during the pandemic with more people moving here from the city and more people getting pets too.

We use Spot On for everything but grooming and they are amazing! We highly recommend them. They’re so responsive and all of the employees really care about all of the pets they take care of.

We use Spot On for daycare and boarding. They’re really great there. I can’t speak for their veterinary care, but for lodging and such, they’re excellent! I’ve heard their fees are pretty high on the vet side though. I’d keep trying for Bulls Head. I mean, they’ve been around for a while but have some younger doctors. I’m surprised they wouldn’t take any new patients, but I guess they know their limit. Maybe it changes as people leave the area and such?

I tried to take my dog to Bulls Head based on recommendations but their website says they don't take new patients and I never got a response to my email.

We ended up going to Spot On on Selleck St which I believe is new-ish and would recommend it. We were able to get an appointment the next day (not even for an emergency, at our vet in Brooklyn it would literally take months to get an appointment) and Dr. Larson has been super nice and thorough and responsive via email.

Second Dr. Nolan, he's been seeing my dachshund since he was a puppy. Great veterinarian!

Over a decade ago I went to Case & Evans (but I don't remember which one). They did a very good job!

VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in norwalk for 24 hours emergencies ( good to know and have )

Strawberry hill animal hospital in norwalk as well.
