Maybe I'm not using it right but it seems to just match me with 2-3 random contractors. I was hoping to hear from someone who had personal experience of a person/company they'd recommend . Even with long lists of online reviews I'd always prefer a personal recommendation since you never know if bad reviews were removed or good reviews compare a similar project/etc

My old landlord runs this business: https://www.instagram.com/ji.construction/. I think it's just him and his son. His name is Arthur. I'd check it out and see how you feel.

I haven't used him personally but that's because when I was renting from him he was our point of contact for absolutely everything with the exception of signing the lease which was handled by his wife. She upped our rent by 15% and made some ludicrous demands before we moved out so we kinda exited on bad terms. I wouldn't blame any of that on Arthur though. He was always very reasonable and considerate. He kinda rambles but he was always very straight with me. Has a lot of pride in his work too. Always gets back to you within a day or so. If not, he'll tell you why and give you a more realistic update.

Sorry to necro this sub, but I just went through the apartment search in Stamford. Check out Village on Bedford St. They were running a great deal on 1 bed apartments. One unit had a price for under $2,000 after all amenity fees and such. Stamford corners had well priced 2 bed units. Parallel 44 had good units and prices too.

Now you’re right, after utilities and other bills, they’re all going to add a few hundred to your monthly ticket, but to say they’re all $3k+ means you’re looking at Summer House or Urby (both of which were great, I just couldn’t stomach the prices lol)
