She was rude from the moment we arrived to see the place. She also made several careless mistakes in the lease, including "accidentally" marking a $100 increase in rent. Of course I said something. Then she had the audacity to ask me to make the changes on the document myself before sending it back to her.

Strawberry Hill is a safe area. It’s very close to a high school with stadium lights, so expect occasional noise if your apartment faces the field. However, I t is not a great street for pedestrians so please use enormous caution when crossing active driveways and streets.

I don't recommend Urban Connections at all. Maybe others have had a positive experience, but we had an awful time renting an apartment through them.

Not only did our realtor not disclose that the home owner was dying of cancer and the family didn't want tenants, he failed to have the landlord sign the lease agreement AT ALL. We were left scrambling 10 days before we were supposed to move. It was like pulling teeth to get him to answer calls.

He also didn't respect our time. He showed up over an hour late to show us apartments and talked on his phone the entire time.

Like I said, maybe others have had awesome experiences with them, but ours was a nightmare.

Apparently, it is not common to pay commissions In the state of Connecticut. Those two you mentioned are the few that take them. I have been told by actual realtors in the state that the landlord pays them the commission. I’ve seen on this sub and heard from friends in the area that prospective renters and buyers do not commonly pay commissions. So do with that info what you will.

We decided to use a realtor who didn’t take commissions but they don’t have the same listings as those who do. It may be more competitive that way and things go fast in this area when they’re affordable. Hopefully you find someone who is on it.

I’ve actually asked this at new wave a couple years ago, they said they could accommodate but you’d be paying a hefty sum for it
