It’s not about the speed, it’s about the height.

I bought a house last year with two Bradford Pear trees in the front yard. Within a few months, a huge limb broke off one and took out the internet for several houses around. A few months later a huge storm rolled through and the other split in half, taking out my lightpost and the railing to my stairs. I paid to have them both cut down and it's one of the best decisions I've made with this house so far.

I've never noticed the smell and cilantro tastes like soap to me.

Find a facility that hasn’t had a string of safety and mismanagement issues?
It literally exploded the other day, if I’m not mistaken?
Don’t even get me started about how much damage was done to EPA under the previous administration. Do I expect them to maintain rigorous licensing standards? It strikes me that the plant should be on a watch list at this point, if anything.

It is the official tree of Baltimore City. Schaffer signed it, no one in Baltimore politics has cared enough to change.

I recommend Harbor East, depending on when your stay is you should be able to get one of the following for $200-$250:
Marriott Waterfront
Hilton Garden Inn Harbor East
Tru by Hilton Little Italy/Harbor East
The Marriott is my fav, excellent views and room quality after a recent renovation, and you can walk out the front door and you’re on the harbor promenade.
I was pleasantly surprised with Tru and the close to distance to some of the best Italian food in the city.

Same. Can't smell them and cilantro smells and tastes delicious to me.
ObviousGazelle t1_jdyczgb wrote
Are you sure the smell isn't emanating from one of the known hooker spots, like Ft. Armistead? Or perhaps even one of the more "popular" hookers? Lol

My sense of smell must be compromised because I smell nothing on those trees.

My thoughts every time I see one! Which is like every 5 minutes. American dogwoods have beautiful spring flowers and they don't smell like rotting garbage.

>Tbh, it kind of seems like Norfolk Southern was trying to get this stuff into others' hands as fast as possible,
I'm not supporting Norfolk Southern, but why wouldn't they? They're not a hazardous waste storage company. What else would you expect them to do other than pay EPA approved companies to dispose of it?

They're an invasive species. There are other pretty things we could plant that are native and better for the local ecosystem.

It has nothing to do with the money to renovate them. There's a long and arduous process for the city or any of the various nonprofits doing similar work trying to either rehab abandoned homes or demolish them to build larger buildings or green spaces. Many of them still have owners and you still have to go through the courts accordingly and it takes literal years to do so.
This older, but still incredibly relevant 2016 episode from Planet Money describes the process in detail.
