small sample size, but it's by far the worst of all the public transit systems i've used. (boston, los angeles, nyc/nj, dc/nova, miami as far as usa goes, then internationally just japan)

OP, I may be missing something in your criteria but seems like many many options. Dedham, Norwood, Natick, Franklin, Walpole, Framingham, Westborough, Foxborough, Mansfield, Wrentham and others have somewhat walkable core areas, are commutable, not a far drive to Milford, decent schools and houses under $1 mil.

If you're uncomfortable about making the decision, place your car in storage for 3 months somewhere cheap (outside of Boston). At the end of those three months, you can decide whether you can live without it or not (or sooner, if you find that you really need it).

That happened to me not to long ago. I was waiting for this yesterday and just went farther to avoid getting skipped and still almost didn’t make it on the train when it came. I’ve just started driving part time now and paying for parking. It’s pathetic. If I wasn’t so cheap, they might have me driving full time to work if I’m honest. I just can’t with this terrible service.

and even those are becoming less and less as sanity returns. anime boston dropped their mandate (and while further away, so did otakon)

before those conventions were relying on the excuse of "what if the city re-imposes mandates", but it's hard to push that narrative when there hasn't been one in over a year.

Honestly not sure how to phrase it neutrally. People are going to react and make assumptions instead of asking clarifying questions. I frankly don’t want to waste an artists time getting a consult for a tattoo they won’t create.

Unless you're super active and pack the car up for the blue hills every weekend or have a goal to explore more than just the downtown area sell it. You have everything you need in walking distance.

Ayy gotcha, thanks. People have different ideas about what is walkable lol, when I read walkable my interpretation is something dense and downtown-like, but that's because I don't like walking. But based on those examples I get the sense that your definition is like a place with greenery and real sidewalks, where you can get to the middle of town for ice cream or bread in 15-20 minutes without being worried about getting hit by a car. I may reiterate my recommendation for Canton, in that case. The school system is good - 99% graduation rate, 90% college bound
