Like the other redditor said it will come down to what you want to play I don't have much knowledge of the switch but the PS4 also functions as a multimedia device Netflix, YouTube, etc so it may be worth looking at that aspect as well to get the most use out if it

I own both consoles, they’re fairly similar to me. Both play games, both take up space. Both do things better than the other, for example Xbox does backwards compatibility 100x better than PlayStation, and PlayStation has better designs for consoles. Both do their own jobs that’s why I like them both equally

Honestly I think it comes down to what type of games you'll want to play. Both area great, so it just comes down to which system has games that interest you.

Really doubt it. The ps2 was a good console but games have gotten way better lately, no one is going to go back to that era. It’s like picking gtav or gta1, you’re picking gtav 100% no questions asked
