i would still use ebay despite the issues you mentioned. price can be remedied by being persistent and frequently looking for the thing you want. to get an idea about what you should pay, find the item you want and sort by "sold". that will give you a good high to low range. shipping can be a pain. nothing to be done about it. but you have to factor in the fraud protections you're gonna get shopping with ebay. imo it's the absolute best option.

The games yes, either use an external drive or have both in the same network and use the network transfer option.

The save games are typically in the cloud as well as stored locally, I’m not sure how to check the status of that.

Accounts are not possible to be moved, you’d have to sign in with those from scratch, when you log in the console asks if you want to duplicate your settings from your previous console or start fresh.

Mate every game is cloud saved so you won't loss data and if your really picky on some old game just look it up. So when you get a new xbox just sign in and start redownloading your games, if you have an external hard drive you can plug it into your new xbox so you don't have to redownload some of the games although a lot will want to be enhanced.

When I moved to series X, I justed logged in using my profile, if your refering to profile data, this is not only kept on your systems hard drive, but on Microsofts Azure servers also, so theres no chance of you losing it. As for games can swap em using any external HDD/SSD. If you have a lot of games on a external, might be worth getting a external nvme SSD, (once downloaded games can be swapped back and forth within a couple of minutes), others work fine and don't need the super expensive series s/x dedicated one.

If you love Bethesda games, you should definitely buy a Xbox. But I must say, if you have $1,000 to spend I’d honestly recommend buying both Xbox and PS5 this generation.

There are a ton of great exclusives on PlayStation and games with good use of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Then on Xbox you have Halo, Forza, Gears, all of the backward compatible games from previous generations, and Gamepass.

To me, this made the most sense. I don’t have a ton of time to game being a father and having a full time job, so when I do I want to play the games that I want with no restrictions on exclusivity or age.

That’s just my opinion, but I’ve loved both and have used both regularly!

Considering the games you play I’d probably go for series x then.. affordable, game pass and plenty of rpgs to chose from and they own Bethesda so there will be lots in the future
