Not a bad price man. There are a lot of new games coming for XBox, really big games that have the possibility of changing XBox's fame of not so good exclusives. I still think PS5 would be a better choice but at that price... I don't think you could've found a PS5 for 350.

Ray Tracing is the biggest bullshit ever told to gamers. It's really nothing special, doesn't change a thing if you actually consider what it does and consumes a TONE of performance. Please, do not trade 60 FPS for some better stupid reflections that you'll only notice if you actually stop playing the game just to look at it.

I don't think you should regret, it's a great console and I highly recommend you try Forza Horizon 4 and 5. They feel DELICIOUS on that console.

You literally dont know anything about hardware , you just look at the teraflop count and think thats all that matters lol. The Series S isnt design for 4k thats why it doesnt run games on 4k it chooses 1440p60 or 1080p120 for cross gen games instead. The one X WAS designed for 4k30, why cant you put that simple fact onto your head lmao.

I love how you changed to 3 years from less then two lmao. And why do you think other consumers care about resolution dude? thats just you lol. Stop imposing your taste on others, also you make it sound like 1080p looks like trash when it doesn't. The Series S will still get the upcoming AAA titles and thats whats important lol, it might be at 1080 or even 900p but thats still the most common resolution for todays standards. they made it pretty clear that the Series S isnt a 4k console, it doesnt mean its not next gen, you must be really dumb to let that go over your head lol.

This generation is only starting, think about games from early PS4 vs nowadays. I think they haven't even begun using the power of these systems bc most games are still coming out on last gen. I bought the Xbox Series X bc of the studios Microsoft bought and what they produce. Arkane studios doing games like Redfall, Bethesda making Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 eventually, Tango Gameworks, and more.

The Series X hasn't been worth it yet but I will be keeping it for years to come. So in 5 years, 10 years whatever it will have a ton of games I'm still trying to catch up on or play again. We are just in this awkward between phase bc of the pandemic delaying games and chip shortages preventing people from getting their hands on the systems. In a year or 2 when all the games are exclusively current gen your PS4 won't cut it.

Mate we are not in the 1920s anymore. Getting a job at all at an age where it’s legal is hard enough. You may have had a job when you were 12 which makes you an exception. Wealthy or not.

He can work by mowing peoples lawn and shit but nothing official

That’s because it’s just started it’s lifespan, the Xbox one X, a 5 year old console, is more powerful that the series S. it’s just a dumb buy if you give a single fuck about longevity.

As for the longevity of the Series S, it is difficult to predict. However, considering that the Xbox platform has a large user base and the Series S has received positive reviews, it is likely to be supported for several years to come. If you are concerned about the console phasing out, you could always consider purchasing a longer warranty or insurance for the device.

yeah i’ve researched for a few days, also i seem to be the audience this console was targeted for lol (all digital games, only play 1-2 at a time), this will just be a nice addition to my setup i think. i have a switch and a decent gaming laptop that can handle all current and foreseeable future games if i need to play something really beefy

really all i want is to be able to load my current games faster, and play the current next gen games that are coming out like the re4 remake and hogwarts legacy (even though i know the latter is coming out like two months later for previous gens)

Wdym by outdated lol? If you just mean the hardware sure but both the series X and Ps5 will be outdated by then lol, but if you mean it will be unsupported then lol trust me if the switch is still getting support and will still be getting throughout the next two years, then the much more powerful series S will still get support until at least 2028 lol.

Bought mine for $240 after Christmas, and did not regret the decision. There aren't many next generation exclusives at the moment, but the way I see it, it's a better Xbox One than the Xbox One. Games load faster, a big deal for Soul Calibur 6 in particular. They'd probably also look better on close inspection, but Xbox One games already look pretty spiffy and my TV only goes up to 1080p, so visual enhancements are not hugely important to me.

Also! In developer mode (and retail mode if you know the trick!), the Series can run GameCube games, AND Dreamcast, AND PS2, which is invaluable to someone like myself who can't let go of the past. And they all look terrific upscaled to 1080p! I've got Bombastic, Capcom vs. SNK 2, and Bloody Roar all at my fingertips, without having to dig out the old dust-covered hardware. Awesome. I'd buy that for 240 dollars!

The Series S is amazing for the price point, especially for people who don't play often. The rumors of dropping the series s as a requirement for a game are stupid rumors floating around. there hasn't been any credible or trust worthy source from where this rumor has come. Unless a publisher or Xbox themselves state this then it isn't happening. If you really want the series s and have done your research on it then go for it

I have a series s and do love it. I am also going back to retro gaming. The reason is a lot of games on Xbox and ps are remakes. That does sound like a great deal though. Also, Two years is a long time. Most people will say the series s console will be outdated. To be honest what ever consoles people get they have a very long life span. I started to use my super nes again after not using it since 98. It is still going strong. Plus you can emulate games on the series consoles. Depends on what kind of gamer you are. I am no gaming expert so just talking from my own experience. And the number of mistakes I have made money-wise.

Good luck and have fun.

I like all consoles.

Ps if your one s plays DVDs, apps and music. It is alot more than my ps4pro could do.

I do get the buyer's regret it is part of learning but an expensive lesson.

Awesome break down of a variety of factors that contributed to this. When i read it over it just makes alot of sense. The growth of online communities is something that slipped my mind but you are absolutely right that was starting to peak. Nowadays people give all the feedback in the world but whether game developers listen to it is a whole different story.
