Try entering safe mode. Get to home screen and stop the update. Either turn wi-fi off or delete update. Try that

Right guys. So my ps4 is stuck on the update screen and my control pad has died. I have borrowed a neighbours ps4 control pad to get past this but my ps4 won recognise the control pad. I don't know how to resolve this. Can anyone help.

$150 to do something that is just software is completely ridiculous. If you paid that much you got well and truly scammed. That’s basically a switch right?
