Well, I will say that it's only worth it if you wish to continuously keep playing, I know a lot of people in the same situation as you who wanted to buy a PS5 but stopped playing after a month. The console itself is great, but ask yourself first, what you would play, and if you have anyone to play with even.

We have both in our house. Me and my son trade them back and forth all the time and love em both. But the Xbox just feels more sturdy. The PS5 is louder. It's awkwardly shaped and awkwardly huge, the stand won't stay on when trying to place horizontal. I hate having to move it from one room to another. I will be trading it in for the Slim as soon as it's available.

I wouldn't have any concerns at all about the PS5 becoming obsolete any time remotely soon. The PS4 is still getting numerous recent AAA games like Hogwarts Legacy and God of War Ragnarök, plus upcoming games like Resident Evil 4 Remake and Assassin's Creed Mirage. With the PS4 (released in 2013) still getting that level of support in 2023, the PS5 will be alright until at least 2030 probably a little more.
