I agree one thousand percent. How have they claimed to be a part of the community yet they weren’t aware of this issue? Apparently friends with coach Hurley yet they never knew about his affiliation with this HUGE issue? Ignorance is never an excuse.

I would go further and say that this issue is a statewide issue, even more of a national issue considering the location of the park and significance of the landmarks it overlooks. People come from OTHER COUNTRIES to come to this park and see the statue, let alone people from out of the city and out of state.

Furthermore, it sets a precedent that state land should and could be developed for private use, which shouldn’t be the case as it’s state land for public use. Imagine high point state park having mansions all around obstructing the view? Or if the wetlands in Cheesequake state park in central Jersey were developed into condos or an expansion for the PNC center?

I understand wanting to be fair to them, and it sucks, but associating with this sort of thing that is actively attempting to damage your community, then blaming everyone else for being upset, is the issue. That’s what they have been doing with this situation. Boycotting businesses associated with this group shows others to not risk doing so in the future. That’s how you show the guy he isn’t welcome

Er... tons of places all over the US with much more reasonable taxes that are not shitholes filled with backward hicks or meth-heads. It's a weird take (but a common one among people in this region) to think it's either crazy taxes (for very shitty roads and infrastructure, government corruption, and overall HCOL - so not exactly getting all that much for what we pay) or living in real-life Ozark with meth, hillbillies, and whatever other stuff you are imagining.

Good riddance! It's about time.

I used to LOVE Hard Grove back in the day, and would go there weekly (sometimes multiple times) when they were actually located on Grove. I knew the waiters and waitresses and bartenders, and their food and drinks were top notch. It was by far my favorite JC restaurant and hangout spot back then.

I patiently waited and closely followed all their trials and tribulations trying to get up and running at a new location, and returned years later when they finally opened at their current, soon to be closed spot. Most of the faces from the OG place had been replaced, with only 1 remaining. While she remained top notch, all the other staff was sub par, with the manager being one of the worst. It seemed as if her only function was to slouch at the bar and gossip and complain about customers and people in her life. The last time I was there, I had to eat my meal while listening to her loudly make fun of the appearance of a customer who had recently celebrated her birthday there. She made fun of this woman to another customer who was eating at the bar. Truly disgusting and inappropriate behavior.

Aside from that, the food was not quite the same and the drinks went from AMAZING at the OG location, to just plain bad. I went from going every week to once every couple of months to a couple times a year. Every time was a disappointment. The final straw was when I went about 6 weeks ago, and despite the place being empty, the service was still horrendous, the food took extremely long to come out, drinks and appetizers were bland, and when they brought out the chicken entree which had always been my favorite it had a bizarre rubbery consistency that I had never experienced before. After 2 bites I saw that the chicken was COMPLETELY RAW on the inside. 🤮 The bartender apologized, acknowledging that they weren't even busy so that shouldn't happen and told the manager. The gossiping, lazy manager just took the dish and said nothing. I cancelled the order and asked for the check. They offered me nothing, charged me for everything I already had and at full price, and in that moment I knew I would never be back. I also knew their time was limited because how could a place survive that is barely open, has bad service, serves bad, raw food and bad drinks and makes zero effort to gain, retain and please customers?

Hard Grove, it's sad it came to this, but your demise was a LONG TIME COMING.

BYE. 🤷‍♂️

And NO. I won't be visiting your new location. For obvious reasons.

The DEP plans to restore wetlands and bring back some of the natural wildlife of the area, not build a stupid fucking stadium and racetrack as a cover to try and seize another part of the park for a golf course. It doesn’t need to be developed. If you want new basketball courts and shit go complain to the city council directly instead of bitching about it online and defending a shit-smear of a human being that wants to take something away from everyone.

Oh for sure. North Jersey also has some of the best schools for kids, which is one of the major reasons we are looking to stay in the area, but have you seen the shit holes that they're trying to sell for over $400k? Insane, really. And the feds just hiked up the rates. Smh. But I agree, no way in hell would I ever move down to Alabama. Hard pass.

I agree it’s expensive but also, you couldn’t pay me to live in some parts of Alabama. Places where my partner (whose family is originally from down there) says is such a mess, it looks like a third world country. If I had to raise a family somewhere, I’d pay more to live somewhere where there aren’t more people on meth than people who are literate. You get what you pay for.

You see, we need to build LUXURY HOUSING on every open patch of land downtown.

But actually it looks like the the lot they used last year is currently being used by the crew making light rail repairs to the track between Harsimus and Harborside. Hopefully they come back once they are done with the track work.

Something similar happened to me years ago. I accidentally grabbed my mom's unlimited card because we both had one, but hers had a senior discount and mine didn't. Got caught with it and was given a ticket with an option to fight it. I went in to fight the charges, and ended up having it dropped because the officer forgot to write on the ticket what I was being ticketed for. My advice, read the ticket thoroughly.

Man, I hope it's a clerical error on the website update. It was pretty well run, the bar was decent, I liked it (early before the crowds got pressing). Part of the best part of their empire is that they rotate vendors, so it's usually fresh to go every week.
