Maybe some local mafioso are shaking down the vendors for protection money?

Is this because she is trying to hold up the development of the building there. The entity she runs has unjustified influence and needs to be dissolved.

Maybe the farmers market will be a two for one deal. Food and a Fight amongst vendors. Lots of hair pulling, scratching of eyes, foul language. If we are lucky one vendor will pick up another and slam them in a table like you see in movies. If it is this two for one then the popcorn vendor will make a mint.

Probably after the roads are torn up for waterlines. The city seems to always get hell when the pseg or viola comes digging up a street right after it’s been repaved.

Ultimately this is what is going to happen. The large firms can operate at a loss, push out the smaller landlords, and buy up their properties. This is what happens every single time.

What is "goss"? Is it better hot? Where can I get some? Like a pop-up or something?

This is what solving the housing crisis looks like right? Letting national equity firms suck up all the housing supply and then pretending they are doing the city they priced everyone out of a favor. 🤩

This Hudson Chronicle comment is so outrageously offensive, I am in a state of shock. It would be a repulsive comment against anyone, but Sam Pesin as a target is just absurd. Sam has been deeply committed to racial justice and equity for multiple lifetimes of the Chronicle. He was my kids' preschool teacher and they learned more about equality, justice and respect from Sam than they have from all teachers combined since. He had explicit, age appropriate conversations about racial justice and what it means to stand in solidarity with each other at a time when no one did.
The developers and their outlet are pissed because without a financier or publicist, Sam has fared so much better than they have. Sam holds values that align with what most of us believe, and has been organizing at the grassroots level with people who share his committment- two ingredients the Fireman crew lack entirely.

As far as I am aware, haven't explored the Communipaw/Bergen-Lafayette area too much, that area is a food desert. Would need to hike over to atleast 99 Ranch for grocery shopping.

It's me, I'm one! Got my renter's $450 check. I tried to tell as many folks in my social group as I could about it.

I think Gothamist did a thing about this exact smell wafting around Newark years ago, couldn't find it with a quick google. So no, you're not the only one that smells that on that bridge.
Old commute used to go past the Nabisco plant in Bergen County, random chocolate chip cookie smells while driving are tough to beat.
