Good to know! Thanks for that info. I’m sure you’re right, it’s probably run very similar and they probably have just as many pets looking for forever homes 💕

Two of our cats and one of our dogs are from the Concord Pope Memorial SPCA. :-) Our oldest cat came from the old shelter in Pembroke. The new shelter is gorgeous! <3

The Dover one has the same name because the same philanthropist gave them money to build the new shelters. They are separate organizations, though. Dover is still a humane society and Concord is under SPCA.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't go to Dover; it just means it's a whole separate organization so we can't assume it runs exactly like Concord. :-)

I’m not sure about the cultivation part because I’ve read a few times now that they home cultivation part had to be omitted to please certain people and that it would be a separate bill all together. From what I understand medical patients would be able to grow 3 flowering plant, 3 non flowering and 12 seedlings. We would also have to register our small grows with the state. Which is nuts.

but you don't know a single person who could?

man i can't imagine what it's like to have never bought weed off the "street," texting your friend of a friend from the parking lot he told you to meet at 15 minutes after he told you to be there saying "u still coming? no rush just checking" hoping not to piss this stranger off so you can get a bag of weed. now kids be like gimme that government stamp on my pill bottle of flower

I cut/buck/split/stack wood off my own property. Went through about 3.5 cord so far this year. Doing your own firewood is definitely not free though, it takes gas and a TON of time/effort. I'd wager if I did a cost analysis it's actually more expensive for me to do it than to buy it given my occupation, but it's satisfying, a good workout and really helps clear out the massive amount of old growth behind the house.

As for oil, paid maybe ~$1600 over the last year. Only turned oil heat on once during the deep freeze we had, otherwise it's exclusively hot water.

Thanks for doing what you do. I'm a veteran who happened to serve in the Navy during Desert Storm. Got some spiffy ribbons and get thanked all the time even though Iraq has no Navy (i.e. I mopped up oil, changed cannon plugs and fraternized with Asian women). Point is, day to day, you guys are the heroes. I realize it, and respect it, every day when my kids come home from school. I'm so sorry that society makes it hard for those whom are really the foundations of our future. It's just fucking shameful.

My five are strays from my brief time living in the dirty South, but this makes me want to adopt MORE (obviously insane). Thanks for sharing!
