Sadly, it is a horrifically bigoted state. Massachusetts is a far safer bet for someone moving from a hate state. There are too many idiots up here that think it is ok to push their belief on others. Spineless cowards, really. Instead of actually educating themselves, they just listen to the hate/fear echo chambers that tell them Democrats want to eat their babies and take their guns. Stupid is as stupid does.

You don't need to replace them. Old windows with storm panes are good enough compared to moderns windows while costing significantly less and won't need to be replaced every 15 years.

Basically you just replace any rotting wood, caulk the gaps, paint, and you're good to go. Having a good seal is what's important. If you're concerned about shards of glass from a broken window, you can buy shatter resistant protective film that's cheap and trivial to install.

Keep in mind everything in your house is going to have lead paint if the windows do. If any floors are painted, there's lead under there too.

Lol don't look at your southern crime statistics. Because you are 100% correct it is slowly becoming mass... in the worst imaginable way ever. Unfortunately I don't see NH staying NH for to much longer. Covid has sped up the economic growth(if that's what you really wanna call it) in NH 300x. More out of staters. It's sad really.

Libertarians always wanted help from the government, they just simply do not understand the myriad ways in which they have/are already benefitted/ing from it. What they are against is "their money" being "given" to "others", or more simply the foundational idea that we pay taxes for services which we all use and are made more affordable by everyone paying in a little. It's a doomed philosophy that has all but been taken over by its more openly hateful proponents and bereft of any new ideas.

There is a house for rent, looks like by owner on bunker hill in Stratham. They just have a sign out front with a phone number. Not sure exactly what you're looking for but Craigslist has housing for rent, or rooms for rent as well.

Fort Rock and Newfields are ripe with trails. It's heavily mountain biked (the MTB community is currently building a lot of new trails on teh newfields side). Parking is located in a couple places on Rt. 85 on either side of Rt.101 (there's a large culvert under 101 connecting the two trail networks).

There's a nice network of trails off Bald Hill Road in Epping/Newmarket.
There's some nice trails in Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge near Pease in Newington with views of Great Bay.
