There was one in Columbus Ohio. The idea was that people who don't drink don't really want to hang out with drunks.

Except this one was run by right-wing extremists.

It might shock you, but the cross-section of sober right-wing extremists in a fairly liberal Midwest college town was surprisingly not sufficient to support their business.

That wasn't a part of the question i was replying to..

They had asked whether or not there were enough people who don't drink at every location they shop at to justify a business not serving alcohol..

To which my answer was a reminder that many non-alcohol related businesses do in fact exist and many are quite profitable.

IOW: pedantry for the sake of a mildly amusing loophole in grammar.

Yes. Thank you for confirming? Or more likely, whoosh.

His point of a bar without alcohol might as well be a restaurant, but fun bars can have games. So, yes, alternatively just like I was saying, there are more options than just being a restaurant as the original commenter suggested such as a pool hall or arcade.

I'm saying it happened ALL the time, which is why the Church paid out millions. The Church should stay the hell out of it. They don't have the ability to investigate, but they did, and then they did the priest. Are you unaware of history? Did you miss the list of payouts the church did for this?

Here is over a decade of payout after payout, over a billion dollars:

Here's a list of priests hidden by the church:

Possibly, and adding that what makes bars profitable is the incredible markup of alcoholic beverages. A single served drink costs as much as ½ a bottle in many cases. And even normal bars close all the time, especially in this financial environment. Not to mention, I assume they’re serving “mocktails”, of which people will buy (maaaybe two) vs people drinking regular cocktails will have multiple drinks. There needs to be another form of service (i.e., food) or entertainment (i.e., live music) to keep something like this afloat.
