Study of asylum-seeking children at an Australian immigration detention facility found 89% of children presented physical health issues, including malnutrition and dental disease, while 79% had one or more mental health symptoms, including self-harm ideation or attempts (45%).

8 out of 10 preterm babies suffer newborn jaundice. Therapy involves exposing the baby to blue light, however, there are no standard guidelines on the precise color of light, irradiation power and duration. Scientists suggest fluorescence measurement will improve jaundice testing and therapy.
