Wind power is built at an increasing pace but its effect on nature and animals is poorly known. Researchers investigated the impact of wind turbines on bat presence and activity in Finnish boreal forests. The results indicate that wind power repels bats and drives them away from important habitats.

European economies have developed stronger anti-trust regulations, more competitive markets, and more robust consumer protection than the US in the last 20 years. The reason for this is the EU. EU member states are incentivized to empower a strongly independent pro-competition regulator.
