Yeah, apple declined to comment doesn't seem to support it being in the article.

Im not sure if they could even ban it at this point... its too later but something needs to be done. Otherwise our internet will be mostly bots, same deal with phone calls (probably already the case) but the scamming is about to get a whole lot more effective and scalable.

True but this is way easier. For a long time the ability to do this has been there but its been a hard skill to learn how to do. Now just from your phone you can type in. "Pope with a weird coat." And it will be created for you. Some other things to consider is... well its text to image today sure but tomorrow it will be text to video, and then you combine that with text to audio. So now a single person not a studio can easily make a fake of anyone saying anything you like.

Lol you'll make fun of Americans because you fail to comprehend what's being said? I figured when you used the label 'murricans' in this reply.
Please tell us, what beacon of democracy do you hail from? Don't worry, I'll wait...

It does matter and you're sea lioning. We don't turn the global economy on a dime it takes years. We've spend literally decades digging this hole we're in and we've spent maybe one trying to dig out, not even a whole decade really as for example in America we just got over Trump who was working on bringing back clean glorious beautiful coal.
Remember that? Now we're all in on IRA and cars are electrifying, solar and wind are starting to make up nearly all of our new installed production. We don't scream at the baby when it starts crawling demanding it be an Olympic level athlete the next day.
We had shit like like Russia act up so the gas they were burning got down converted to coal by many EU countries. Even with that we've seen a near tipping over to emmison reductions.
So be gone shill we're moving forward and as things get worse the urge to improve will become stronger. But as it stands right now you're in the way of saving the species. Spreading FUD to act against this creates despair and harms all our futures. So stop.

Save half the money - if you can do it with 2 rails, you can do it with a single rail. Both rails go to the same place anyway.

I think we'll call it: The OneRail.

Depends on what apple actually did and why people were let go. I know zero about this case, but I am personally familiar with several cases where employees claimed labor discrimination to try and avoid being fired for something else (theft in my most memorable case)

It costs money to mine coal and extract oil. It costs nothing for the sun to get to the solar panel or the wind to get to the wind turbine.

I only see one way to regulate models whose weights are public already.
Licenses hard-built into the GPU itself, through driver code or whatever. Nvidia and AMD can definitely do this. When you load the model into the GPU, they could check the exact weights, and if it's a 'banned' model they could shut it down.
Most of these models are too large for individuals to train from scratch, so you'd only need to ban the weights floating around. Fine tuning isn't possible either, since you need to load the original model first before you fine-tune it.
Yes, there would be ways to circumvent this, speaking as a lifelong pirate. But it's something that could be done by Nvidia, and would immediately massively increase the barrier to entry.

It has already been factored in and renewable is still cheaper than coal, even with batteries:

Renewable energy is cheaper EVEN WITH BATTERIES. So even that "hidden cost" that you mention isn't enough to make it more expensive than coal.
