CBS playing it safe with what (usually) works for them. Though it borrows a bit from Castle, also involving a mystery writer.

I haven't laughed that hard at a show in a while.
It's probably a good rewatch because the jokes are so rapid-paced.

Rescue Me went from a fire house dramady and stretched into this poorly written drivel with odd storylines dropped after one episode. FX network has always been patient with shows letting them develop but this stuck around a few seasons too long. That being said, the last few episodes ended the series on the right note. I felt rewarded for having stuck through it!

I agree. Writing is one of the jobs tailor-made for remote work.
Last time I mentioned it, I got a lot of people telling me "how important it was for everyone to be physically in the same room to write" as if that isn't the same load of bullshit middle managers around the country are trotting out right now.
I can maybe, possibly see a case could be made for fast-turnaround stuff like SNL or The Daily Show where you have to interact quickly and frequently with the actors, but by and large I think it's all horseshit.

This one drives me absolutely bonkers.
I just don’t unserstand why writers need to be based in LA.
I work crew in Atlanta and while, on average, most of the crew and about half of the cast are locals, the writers are always based in LA. My current show is even based in Atlanta and you can always tell the writers have never set foot here from the scripts. And it just doesn’t make sense.
Like, the showrunner is here running the show and they’re conducting the writers room in LA and they just join via zoom and then they fly the writers out and house them to produce their episodes. They could honestly expand the talent pool and save money if they would just hire just as talented writers that live here.

First half of season 1 is great, latter half is ok to good. Second season apparently not so good but haven't watched it. There's also a Korean remake which I enjoyed

While you have it make sure you check out Black Bird. Its fucking great show about a criminal being sent into superbad prison to try to coax a confession out of a serial killer. Fantastic acting from both of the leads, the story is awesome and I literally couldn't stop watching it. Binged it in a day.
Also the movie "The Greatest Beer Run Ever" needs to be seen. It's the true story of a guy taking beers to his buddies in Vietnam.
Also Slow Horses is a great spy show, Shrinking is a hilarious comedy with Harrison Ford and I really liked Schmigadoon.

Check out The Night Agent on Netflix.
It doesn’t have anyone nearly as badass as Jack but it’s got the usual twists and turns of a season of 24.

It lead to some of the best late night tv ever in the past. And writers are underpaid still. So I'm all for it.

I actually enjoyed this show about as much as the original, less inter characters and the writing wasn't as good but entertaining still. Shane is basically the only character I actually like.
