FYI, terms like “in-demand” or “engagement” are just made-up buzzwords created by random analytics companies that track meaningless metrics like hashtags, Google searches, likes, etc. Basically everything except actual viewership. News outlets shouldn’t use companies like Parrot Analytics as actual sources for anything.

For people too young for this show. The show was being animated and voiced on a weekly basis with aggressive timelines for getting out each episode. The original show was supposed to be 24 episodes to a season but MTV decided to cancel it at Episode 13. So the final episode involved everyone being frozen with a message basically begging people to help them get the show uncancelled..... which it never did.

The show became super popular with the torrent generation and yeah... it really does look like they're targeting millennials badly on HBO Max.

Kiefer Sutherland passed on playing Red Reddington on The Blacklist which wound up being played by James Spader.

I don't know if anyone considers Red an iconic role, but it's given James Spader 10 years of employment while Kiefer has had multiple tv shows that have failed to last. Now, after 10 season, The Blacklist is wrapping up while Kiefer's next show, Rabbit Hole, will be premiering in a couple days. This will be Kiefer's 5th attempt at launching a successful series after 24 ended.

I wonder if he would change things if he could go back in time. Or maybe The Blacklist just wasn't for him either way.

Why?

It's been 20 years. The bloom is off the rose with Whedon and he probably wouldn't be asked back. As NuTrek (among other shows) has shown us, revivals like this almost inevitably suck. And a reboot or universe won't have the magic of the show you loved, it'll just be a soulless cash in on a familiar property.

Be happy with the little there was. Treasure it. Because anything new will likely be a horrible mistake that doesn't add anything good, it just tarnishes the original.
