I watched a video on it last night after seeing this photo on Facebook. Gallery Place was under construction, but it was not finished. It would open later that year on December 16th. They did not want the rest of the system to be held up by this stop, so it did not open at the same time as the rest of them.

I'm sorry that happened to you! The National Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the BIG events in DC. They are recommending if you MUST drive, using spot hero to reserve a parking space. Metro is definitely the best option though! Next time you come into DC on a busy day, avoid driving if at all possible 🙂 Coming up, April 15 will be another crazy traffic day due to the parade

So bizarre to me. Now I was raised in DC, so maybe I'm just jaded, but man the cherry blossom get love like I didn't even know. Do people actually love the plant? Is it the history? Or is it just the temporal nature of a thing? Like calling "first" on a message board.

I know I sound like I don't care for the blossoms, I do - my mother use'ta love them, tried to see them every year, it made her happy. I'm glad everyone is enjoying them too. It'd make mom happy that you all are.
