You're not wrong. But people should still report criminal activity to the police. It creates data that can be used to support systemic change. It may prevent a crime from occurring (even if it only delays it).

I appreciate that, as I'm trying to. Thanks.

Anti-Asian bigotry is tolerated, if not celebrated, among elements of the black community, most notably from then-councilman and former mayor Marion Barry:

Hard up voting because this is a reminder the Catholic church is an institution that has systematic child sexual abuse and they have consistently fought any and all accountability for it. Listen to the victims.

I was just joshing. Saying something is a “whole” something isn’t DC in origin.

When I lived in LA and was in a middle - low class neighborhood I never got fucked with. Then I moved to million dollar home in the suburbs (I rented a guest house and paid cheap rent I am not rich) and my place was broken into yearly while I was living there.

While people might double park and blow reds you still broke a traffic law. Deal with the consequences and move on.

Except that's not actually the case. People with genuine mobility issues can get personal medical mobility scooters. If you actually watch who uses scooters in DC 99% are tourists not commuters and definitely not physically impaired folks.

Not good enough. DC already has that law and scooters still litter the sidewalks Scooter companies need to follow the same rules as CityBike. Have city-approved docking/charging stations that scooters must be docked in and impound any left in the street. And charge the scooter users a fine tonpay for the impound workers.
Funny how you almost never see a CityBike abandoned but Lime and Uber bikes are just discarded on the sidewalk like trash.

Your suggestion is about reinforcement instead of introduction. If they only played those announcements for tourists you’d forget, or others would forget, that you’re supposed to do those things.

I mean it makes sense people are going to target the ones going to trendy bars and living in nice apartments cuz they got money. You gonna rob the dude living down the street who is as broke as you or are you going to go after the new ignorant suburbanite who never lived in a big city before?

I'm 29. I lived literally 3 blocks away from this station since I was 7. It's kinda weird because despite alot of the area being "hood" for almost 20 years, it was relatively safe. I never felt in danger walking into that station as a kid. All shootings and robberies tended to happen in the next stop over at RFK stadium. After gentrification happened with all these trendy bars, restaurants, and condos came up, that's when crime skyrocketed in the last 5 years at the station for some odd reason
