I would talk to the landlord first, remind them what’s in the lease, and ask them to push the rent increase back by 2 months. If they say No, then you go to the OTA. But there’s no need to start with OTA if you’ve not given the landlord a chance to solve the problem first (and OTA will probably ask you “what did the landlord say when you asked” anyway).

Because arresting people is the police's job and prosecuting people is the USAO's job.
"Why should I review grants if the panel does not approve 70% of applicants?"
"Why should I conduct interviews if the hiring manager tells 70% of them they didn't get the job?"
"Why should I give college counseling if 70% of students don't get accepted to college?"
See how dumb that sounds in other jobs? Why should it be any different for police?

Also, wasn't she one of the teenage girls he showed his penis to? How much of her life revolves around public urination/indecent exposure?

Have you considered my feelings? What if I don’t want the post traumatic stress that could occur from being randomly hit by another car and it speeding away. You could also empathize with the fact that my car could be totaled — and insurance often gives below fair market value of cars that are totaled. I mean, I could keep going but I hope you get my point.

To the contrary he’s well within the mainstream of criminal legal system reform and working to end over policing and mass incarceration of African Americans and other minorities. Crime is not worse here than in many conservative led cities.

I’ve lived in the District for almost 10 years. Before the area gentrified, you are right, it was incredibly safe. I used to go to the (old) Harris Teeter all the time by the metro, and there was never a problem. The blocks around the metro seem incredibly unsafe now.

Basically hosting community events there. A separate project would improve the plaza. Kinda what they did with Eastern Market

The ineptitude and idiocy of these new MAGA Republicans is a threat to democracy and the American way of life. Intelligence, character and capability are no longer considered electable qualities. Only the extremes to which one will go for social media clout.

I don’t post about crime, but I still want to answer: I “think globally, act locally.” Meaning, I realize my impact will be small, but it can still be positive. I volunteer to pick up litter so neighborhoods don’t feel so depressing (shout out to District Cleanups!), which can lead to criminal acts, per the Broken Windows Theory. I volunteer in the parks (Anacostia Watershed Society, Rock Creek Conservancy) pulling up invasive plants (English ivy, clematis, honeysuckle) so the native plants have a chance and so the parks are more attractive to everyone, since green spaces are known to calm people down. And I volunteer with other groups as I have time—ushering at free music concerts (Washington Bach Consort), shelving books at the library, helping on Election Day. And I’m uniformly decent and pleasant to strangers I “meet” when I’m out and about, smiling, reaching something down from a high shelf for vertically challenged people in grocery stores, etc. I pay it forward.
Others no doubt will have other ways to involve themselves in their community, wherever your heart might lead you. The one thing we can’t afford to do is to distance ourselves from our neighbors. I’m not Christian, but I live by “Love your neighbor” and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

is your lease month-to-month? The most likely outcome is your landlord then giving you the proper notice for the rent increase. All in all it will probably just get your rent increased delayed by 2-3 months

Yes. He was running unopposed. Another way to put this is that he’s liked well enough that people didn’t run against him in the primary.
So you want to dismantle the city council? "If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy." - David Frum.
Do you even hear yourself? I’ve got a better idea - statehood for DC so we don’t have Boebert and the rest of the congressional clown show all in up in our business.
