Not everything EMT and firefighters respond to is an emergency though. You’d be surprised how many causal and bs calls they respond to.

I've seen them respond to reports of fire at my building extremely casually. They didn't know that there wasn't an emergency yet.

Well, if it had to be any fast food place… may as well be the one with a history of hyper-efficiency.
(This is a joke - obviously a horrible thing)

They're not emergencies though. They're 911 calls and it's a totally different thing.
Source: I'm a guy who responded to a 911 call because a man said his "Jumbo shrimp weren't big enough."

TV is not real life, and when you see people running, its usually rookies.

The landlord is required to notify you but there's no requirement for you to acknowledge anything. As long as they mailed something, they're probably in the clear unfortunately.
All it takes is your mail carrier to put it in your neighbor's mail slot by mistake or it to get lost in your pile of junk mail, and you might miss it but that's not on the landlord. You should definitely challenge them though, make sure they have proof they sent something.

Despite deleting your post, the things you post on this subreddit gives some insight into your views. Don’t know how I would feel better about myself by saying that you’re not progressive, sorry to hurt your sense of self.

I'm going to defend them a bit here. Typically, when I actually have a question, they have been very helpful, which is all they are really there for. Asking them to provide security and stop fare evasion when they aren't trained in policing is dangerous and counterproductive.

Reply to Nationals Hat from small/local business? by ldubz6
There are lots of souvenir shops downtown, like around Ford's Theatre or the one in the McPherson metro station, that are definitely locally owned. You can probably find either an officially licensed hat or a knockoff, either way zero chance it's actually made locally.
There's also the $5 hat outside the stadium on game day option.
Or just buy an official hat at the the team store, the Lerners' business empire is a local enterprise, just not "small." It's open during games and also 10-4 on non-game days.
I recommend the blue hat, the red hat is jinxed IMHO.

Still, they are emergencies. They should be urgent.

We need to reopen the government-run mentwl asylums that were closed down in the 80s. People like this should be picked up, put into an asylum, and given treatment.

Disagree. I think the fare gates will make a huge difference. They will effectively keep people like this off the Metro. More police presence will be helpful, but doesn't prevent the harassment from occurring in the first place.

I mean specific numbers stamped on the floor at stations, where doors always align.
“Bro I’m on Green. Meet me at door 2-2 at Mt Vernon.”
So easy.

I'd also add that the biggest mistake this country made was when Reagan closed down all the government-run mental health facilities in the 80s. These people need to be locked away in asylums and given treatment, so they won't be a danger to anyone else or themselves.

My bike is a bigger reason my car is mostly a lawn ornament but metrorail/metrobus do replace at least a few car trips per week.

It's IMP (9:30, The Anthem, MPP, Lincoln) not Dave Grohl owned. They may broaden what is booked, but I would guess metal will be rare.

Exactly, when the former (very White) President of the United States refers to Covid as the Kung Flu, we know this isn't a "Black on Asian" problem.
