I have the option of reserved parking space at my office, but I opted for riding the Metro instead. It takes about the same amount of time, but I can sit back and read a book whilst the train whisks me to the office instead of dealing with traffic.

Not that much more. The city is walkable and I work from home. I can walk or E-Bike pretty much anywhere I need to be.
I mostly drive to visit friends in VA or pick up specialty groceries in MD.

I would have picked some of the war crimes or the violation of the rights of asylum seekers. But then I suppose we'd have to throw Biden and the rest in jail too.

I use metro literally every single day. On the other hand, my car sometimes goes weeks at a time without seeing any use.

My lease states that I am to receive a 60 day notice about rent increases period. I’ve been month to month for 3 years now. Last year they notified me, this year they did not.

I used to drive to work every day but I got the unlimited metro pass and no longer drive at all. Takes longer but I can read, text people, and do stuff instead of focusing on not crashing

I was an EMT-B back in the day, and one of the first things they drilled into our heads during training was to never run at a scene. There were numerous reasons, all very practical, including:
- If you run, you're more likely to trip and fall, or drop something, or bump into another first responder also running around, which of course can get you hurt, and endangers the patient due to delaying their care and transport if you do get hurt
- You really should never be so rushed or panicked to even want to run. Staying controlled and calm is important to make sure you can provide thorough care, versus frantic and scatterbrained
- If you are running at a scene, bystanders and even worse loved ones of the patient, are going to freak out more because they'll think "oh shit it must be really bad if the EMT is running". Which then gets them spun up and in your way, a lot of the time.
But all of that aside, if these guys really did interrupt responding to an ALS call, they are awful and deserve to be fired ASAP.

I don’t particularly agree.
Ok. That’s it from me. Cheers.

> but I’m sure I know which ones are downvoting. Asians, and even the Asians know this, are incredibly racist/prejudiced towards black people.
My first ever EEO Complaint in the fed workforce was with dealing with a racist Asian supervisor back in my TSA days. That piece of shit tried to bait me into swinging on him at work by chucking racial remarks. He got his in multiple ways when he sexually harassed some airline employees.

Same. I sold my car right before moving here. I didn’t really have a choice because I needed the money, but it would have been a good decision regardless. I save so much money not owning a vehicle and having my employer pay for my Metro commute

I bought a car a year and a half ago for a job I left eight months later ... but I work full-time from home, I live two blocks from a Safeway and shopping including two CVSs, multiple restaurants, and worst of all: an amazing bookstore, and a wonderful library with weekly booksales.
Unfortunately, since the car market has seemingly collapsed, I'm upside down on my car. I drive maybe once or twice a week. And I complain, but I have a good rate on insurance, have good gas mileage, and I love driving a 6-speed. (Plus it's easier to visit friends in Baltimore and family on the Eastern Shore).

If you’re already concerned about your car, you’ll be much happier not bringing it into the city.
I’ve parked all over the city, I’ve never had my car towed btw. Your biggest concern should be traffic and pedestrians. People walk, bike, scooter everywhere and they all have the right away regardless of what the actual legal situation is.

Not in DC. Only citywide option is Gambet and their laughable interface and odds. Blame the corrupt Council for giving them a no-bid sweetheart deal, I believe because a Gambet exec is related to McDuffie.

I don't own a car. If not for the Metro (and MetroBus), I'd be driving almost daily. Even more likely, I wouldn't be living in DC as decent public transportation was toward the top of my list when deciding to move to a new city.

Anytime I go downtown I park at city center, it’s a 15ish minute walk to the national mall but the price doesn’t exceed 20 bucks and it’s a straight shot into and out of the city
