Because they have all the power to just give us the bigger bins from the get-go vs. making us pay for it and giving us tinny lil' bins instead.

SoPo has them. Saco has them. A myriad of other Maine towns and cities have them.

I know why they make us pay for it, but it's just so stupid. $122 is not something I should have to pay just to throw out an extra bag of kitchen trash, or just throw pizza boxes straight in instead of having to try and break my arm folding them the way I do with some boxes so they fit in the thinner can because you can't recycle things that have food waste on them anymore.

If you want Biddo folks to recycle, then don't hide normal-sized trash bins behind a $122 fee, fuckwads.

Seriously. It's better than Portland which says "ewwww trash bins, what the fuck is that" and makes people leave them on the sidewalk where homeless people can mess with them, but we usually amass 2-3 bags of trash in a week. I have to use my "squish and pray" method. I don't want to use my "squish and pray" method. But those bins are the smallest bins I have ever seen in any Southern Maine city, which, granted, is not saying much, but still.

What a fucking joke.

Closest one near Scarborough would be Biddeford, which isn't terribly far--takes about a half-hour to 45 minutes to get there and back for us.

And you're welcome! Hopefully you find something you like there.

They don't have a salad bar AFAIK, and IDK if they have vegetarian stuff, but Market Basket has great food in general. If you're looking for vegetarian food, you might want to ask them, if there's a location near you.

Plus, it's easy on the wallet. I buy a pizza that feeds 4 for less than $10, but since I'm just one person, I eat a couple slices, wrap it up, and boom, meals for the next couple days. Market Basket in general is cheaper; the only downfall is that there are only three locations in the entire state.

What city has the violence occurred in?

My dad had a neighbor who worked for Doordash and he would often complain about him not getting a real job. But that's about it as far as hostility goes. I'm certainly not hostile towards food delivery workers--I'm more scared of them than they are of me. Social anxiety is a bitch.

But if the violence occurs in a sketchy neighborhood, that might be why you're getting flak. When you live in a sketchy neighborhood, nothing strikes fear in you like having a company send a random person to deliver you fast food who might, juuuuust might, scope the place out and decide to rob you later. Even if you ordered the food yourself and know what to expect..

Even if you're not that type of person, people don't fuck around with stuff like that.

All the run-ins I've had are more like Two Degrees of Separation since they take place in the same country, lol.

But on a related note, I do have a tendency to attract people I once knew when I go out. I don't know what it is. But I've had run-ins with my old elementary school staff, Boys and Girls Club counselors, old friends and neighbors...hardly any of whom I remember.

That's the reason why the only bumper sticker that has graced any of my mother's cars is one I got in my first middle school for being an honor student.

I don't even know why she put it on in the first place. Woman goes apeshit if some asshat parks next to her and swings his door a little too close to her car...
