Hi, I'm house shopping. Seems like the northern-most runways are used by Fedex. How loud is the noise from planes in Carnot-Moon? If you live close, how close?

I live fairly close east of the airport and it doesn’t bother me. Take offs are much louder but 75-90% of take offs go west so it usually pretty quiet. It also depends if you are closer to the flight paths. My house is between flight paths and not directly under so it helps also. The road noise by my house bothers me more than flight noise.
Thanks. I live more than a couple hours away, but I'll try my best.
This suggests that the noise in Carnot-Moon is "A quiet residential street" at 50 decibels. Seems strange.
Fairly close, so you're talking about road noise from 376? Are you within a mile like Carnot?
You could try to hop on Next Door for that area and ask. In theory this is the kind of thing that platform is good for...if you can sort through the general idiocy, spam, and bigotry.
That's averaged, but you don't hear average noise all day. You hear quiet most of the time then periodic loud bursts from the planes.
I was having lunch at Panera )on university right by the runway) the other day and couldn't figure out what the extremely loud noise was. Turns out it was airplanes landing. Walked again to another one landing.
I live 15 minutes away from airport but must be in a flight path because I hear them all the time. My area has no other noise pollution though so that's probably why I notice. Honestly you get used to it.
Our house is directly under the flight path for one of the runways and when we first moved in, it was pretty loud, but after a couple months none of us even noticed any more.

Don't live there but have friends who do. It's loud, and moderately frequent. I could live with it, but I like airplanes. My wife said she'd never move there due to the noise.
I say pick a random day and hang out in the area. See how much the noise bothers you and whether or not you're able to start ignoring it.
