I’ve been dating this guy for 3 months. We agreed to exclusively date one another. We go on dates and we see each other often
However, recently he’s randomly started calling me his girlfriend ( even though I’m not as he hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend yet).
he even tells his friends that I’m his girlfriend. I’ve told him it bothers me when he calls me that and he gets really upset and angry when I remind him that we’re not official yet (P.s he said he’s going to ask me to be official “soon”).
I don’t know if I’m overthinking but I find it weird that he’s calling me his girlfriend yet he hadn’t even asked me to be his girlfriend????
In my mind I’m still single because we’re not official and we both still have dating apps on our phones.
He recently downloaded a dating app and told me it was because he wanted to “ find me on there” and to see if I was still using them
I find that weird because he could’ve just asked if I was still using dating apps….when I looked through his phone he had recently been chatting to a few girls on there even though he told me that he only downloaded the app to find my profile
Do you guys think he’s playing games and that he’s going to waste my time?
Side note-He does suffer from psychosis and has admitted that he has trust issues due to his previous relationships.
Edit: I think some of you don’t understand the new dating culture as you are old… it’s 2022 young people date differently now so I will clarify my definitions…
Being exclusive/being official = boyfriend and girlfriend
Exclusively dating= you agree to only date one person, however You are STILL single.
I am NOT his girlfriend, we are single. We are dating ( getting to know each other)
In my country ( England) if you want to be in a relationship with someone you have to make it EXPLICITLY clear by directly asking them to be your girlfriend/boyfriend
I hope this clears up any confusion.
Second edit: I’ve just shown him the definitions I’ve posted and he has said they are correct and that he will formally ask me to be his girlfriend because that is part of the dating process in becoming an official couple
